This site was originally developed and tested on a LAMP stack that I installed on an older desktop. I initially planned to host the site at home. However, because I live in a rural area, where the internet is accessed through satellite or hotspot, I was slightly worried about some downtime issues. As a result, I decided to transfer the site to a hosting service. This was my first major introduction into html, css, javascript and apache. Though I didn't find the basics to be overly complicated, it was a fun and valuable learning experience.

Ranger Rick is a browser-based game constructed with the Phaser game engine and written in JavaScript. Learning my way around Phaser 3 while trying to maintain SOLID principles has been the most difficult problem I have encountered so far. I also did not anticipate the complexities associated with starting and stopping certain animations. As well as creating object collisions and trajectory. Ranger Rick still needs a good deal more work and currently there is not a lot of user interaction. However, the current keyboard controls are below.

Living in a rural area has provided me an opportunity to have a few chickens and goats. The hen house pictured in the gallery was constructed with repurposed lumber, resulting from a remodeling project, a neighbor wanted removed from their property. I am not new to basic carpentry although building from limited resources as opposed to purchasing everything for a preplanned drawing was an adventure. In the end, it works great for these interesting little critters. It is equipped with nesting boxes, for eggs of course, an automatic gravity fed feeder, and an automatic door with timer and solar charger.
